For what it's worth, the MPRE results from last years August administration of the test were released on the 6th of September. I've actually called the MPRE people on two occasions and the first lady I spoke to told me that they would be released by the 16th of September at the latest. The second time, I spoke to a really nice guy who said that Friday, September 10th would be the latest. He also said that if I didn't have the result by Monday the 13th just to call up and they would check for me. Given that these last few years they tend to be released on or around the 5/6/7th September, my money is on them releasing the results this monday 6th. Either way, we WILL have them before September 10th. Hope that helps. PS: they are always released around 3.00pm EST.

I would have agreed with you on the results being released on Monday, but it is Labor Day and I tend to think that maybe they will be released on Tuesday instead, but I could be wrong.

If you are so worried about the MPRE, you are in for a real worry when you take the bar exam. If you are so concerned about the mpre, which everyone should pass with flying colors, you might want to reconsider another career option.

I talked to them about an hour ago and was told that "results will be released by the end of the week" which is the same response I got when I called yesterday. I have a feeling today will be the day. I am just so tired of waiting for the results. I answered "huh" to most of those questions as well...and I too felt well prepared. This is ridiculous really.

Looking at the 2009 results . . If you got a 120 scaled, you did better than about 90% of the test takers. If you got a 110 scaled, you did better than about 76% of the test takers. If you got a 100 scaled, you did better than about 58% of the test takers. If you got a 90 scaled, you did better than about 38% of the test takers. If you got a 80 scaled, you did better than about 22% of the test takers. If you got a 70 scaled, you did better than about 12% of the test takers. All is based on the NCBEX data released for the results of the August, 2009 exam. Got a 117. Was a bit disappointed but it was ok when I looked at the scaling distribution.

Scaled scores are generated using the following process: * First, you take the exam. Remember there are 60 questions with 50 being counted and 10 being test questions. * Once the scores come in, they standardize the scores to account for variations in test difficulty. Basically, they set at a scaled score of 100 the median (middle) score achieved by all the test takers. It is not exactly 100 because of variations in test difficulty but very close to that. * The scaled scores are not a percentage. They run from 50 at the bottom to 150 at the top. The individual states require a scaled score between 70 and 86. * So, the scaled score is not a percentage. Nor is it directly based on the number right (ie. not number right times 2 or 3). It is an attempt to differentiate the test takers by breaking down scores onto a range. Confusing? Yes. But, it does allow for comparison of one test to another.

After over 10 years away from graduating law school and doing anyting in the legal profession, I decided last year around this time to take that I should practice. I studied independantly and passed the AZ bar in Feb... took the CA Bar July, and just received confirmation I passed the MPRE....All I can say if not for faith I would not have been able work full time, study on my own, attend to my wife and five kids. Oh yeah..... I am a full time student.... God is good....and I am an Attorney.

I found an article by the chief statistician for NCBEX. It was written a few years ago but she indicated that passing the MPRE required, on that particular exam, getting between 24 and 27 right out of 50 (depending on the state). From that I assume most get between 24 and somewhere in the mid-30s out of 50 right.

Yep, I didn't get an email either, but I checked out the website and it finally said I could download my score. I needed an 86 and got a 117. Yes! I'm so happy. Congrats to all who passed, now I need to start studying for the California Bar, which will be like a 100 times harder than this test. As for the test date, I was confused for a second too, thinking "Oh gosh, if they got the date wrong, maybe they got my score wrong too." But then I realized that test date of 08/10 just means that it was in August of the year 2010, and they weren't saying that the test was on the 10th day of August.
